"Celebrate Recovery is the clearest expression of the Church in action in
America today!" - Rick Warren
Our society is becoming more and more complex. Kids now have three
(or more) sets of grandparents. Sexual addiction for men and women is
growing at an exponential rate. Divorce is at an all time high- even for
Christians. This is our reality.
The PURPOSE of Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery was designed as a program to help those struggling with
hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ
through a recovery process, developing them for ministry and helping them to
establish a life mission in the world.
Celebrate Recovery's focus is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power
in our lives through Eight Recovery Principles and the Christ Centered Twelve
Steps. This experience allows us to be changed. We open the door by
sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. In addition
we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.
By working and applying these Biblical principles we begin to grow spiritually.
We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors.
This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger
personal relationship with God and others.
As we progress through the program, we discover our personal, loving, and
forgiving Higher Power - Jesus Christ.

Is Celebrate Recovery for ME?
Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who is seeking a God-mended life. If you
have a hurt, habit, or hang-up, it’s for you. Ask yourself these questions:
Is there a habit, substance or compulsion dominating my life?
Is there an addiction that has become destructive?
Am I being controlled by something that is blocking me from experiencing joy
in my life?
Am I co dependent on someone else’s addictions or habits?
Is a past abuse in my life preventing me from being able to move forward?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we urge you to attend
a Celebrate Recovery meeting and see if you find it to be a safe place to
start healing!
STEP STUDY GROUPS
Gender specific Step Study groups are where the real work of recovery takes
place. In these closed small groups we “work the steps” using the four
Celebrate Recovery Participant's Guides, the Life Recovery Bible and the
Celebrate Recovery Journal (optional).
There will be a new Step Study starting this spring. This group will meet
on Mondays from 6 – 8 p.m. on the main Friendship campus. Childcare will be
provided. For more information on the day & time please contact Myra
Linnhoff at 256-232-4906 or myra@friendshipumc.org.
