Change Athens
Your pocket change can make a huge difference in the lives of your friends and neighbors. In fact, enough change from enough people can help Change Athens.
Friendship places collection buckets at each entrance during our weekend services. From piggy banks and cash jars, mom's purse and dad's pants, come the nickels and dimes that transform lives.
Where the Money Went
8/14 – We provided a mattress for male foster child, and a dresser for female foster child.
8/7 – We helped two families in our community. We were able to purchase and install sub-flooring for an elderly man whose bathroom floor had severe water damage. We also purchased school shoes and backpacks for two children of a single mom in our community.
7/31 – We purchased laminate floor tiles for an Athens resident whose bathroom floor had severe water damage.
7/24 – We purchased a window air conditioner unit for a 62 year-old man who has neuropathy and was living without air conditioning.
7/17 – We purchased two window air conditioning units for two seniors who are clients of the Senior Center in Athens. They both have challenges with breathing problems, so this was a huge blessing for them.
7/10 – We helped two Athens residents move into the QuadPlex and out of an extended stay hotel.
7/3 – We helped a disabled gentleman who requires the use of oxygen repair the air conditioning in his car.
6/26 – We helped a single mom get new brakes for her car.
6/19 – $101 went to a young man who aged out of the Limestone County Foster Care system. He has no familial support, yet received a full 4-year scholarship to a local university. Your contribution was used to meet an immediate material need for this college freshman.
